D.J. is just zis guy, you know?
Is anyone really going to come to this page? This is the blogging equivalent of that blurb inside the back of the dust jacket – most people don’t even notice it’s there. And hey, playwrights – most of the time, we don’t even get that to assuage our vanity. But then again, we get our names on almost every poster.
But if you really want to know about me outside my work … I’m a big, geeky, comfortable guy who’s addicted to potato chips, getting tattooed, checking my email, and playing video games that are usually a few years behind cutting edge. I herd cats – literally, with two that take over my deskspace any time I try to write. I live in Toronto, Ontario, and I can’t imagine being anywhere else.
I believe in freedom and love in pretty much everything as long as you try not to hurt anyone else while you’re doing it. I vote my conscience, give time and money where I can, and try to pay attention to what’s going on in the world, even though periodically it scares me enough that I have to hide from it for a while. I write run-on sentences because, to me, everything is about seeking out connections.
This is one of my favourite quotes, the closing lines of Kurt Vonnegut’s novel Hocus Pocus: “”Just because some of us can read and write and do a little math, that doesn’t mean we deserve to conquer the Universe.”
Email me, if you want. I’m also on pretty much everything in one way or another as far as social networking / chatting possibilities, so if you want my particulars let me know. I hope you enjoy the words!
